Lots of times women get fed up with wearing the same old things but maybe because of the economic crisis they really don’t feel that it is the time or wise to splash out on any new clothes. But there is a way of feeling that they have something new by looking through their wardrobes and pulling out all the items that they never seem to wear any more, because one thing for sure is that when you don’t wear something any more it’s because you don’t like it or feel that it doesn’t suit you.

And most women often have an old jacket somewhere at the back of their wardrobes that they don’t wear any more. It could be a plain black one, or navy, or brown, the point is that it can be given a new lease of life and be turned into a jacket that you might want to wear after all.
First rip off all its plain old buttons which it probably has on the front of the jacket and look to replace them with some silver ones that maybe have some engraving on them. If the sleeves of the jacket had no buttons on the cuffs well sew three buttons going upwards from the cuff for about 6 inches.
Buy some boucle trimming (which looks like wool all scrunched up) in the same colour as the jacket and sew it all along the hem and then up to the lapel on both sides and then all along the hems of the sleeves.

The fashion this year has still included quite a few items which are transparent with the most common being the transparent blouse. This is transparency makes for a very feminine article of clothing and on young women looks very good but for the slightly older woman who may have a few small bulges round her midriff it may not be so flattering for her.

For the young, these blouses should be worn with a flesh coloured bra so that it looks from afar as if they didn’t have anything on underneath, but for the older the best thing to do is to opt for a camisole top to be worn over the bra. Here it doesn’t have to be in flesh colour but in a colour that complements the colour of the blouse.
For example if the blouse was on a black background with pink and white flowers, a black camisole top would look the best. And then if the blouse was on a bottle green background with let’s say white and yellow flowers then go for a bottle green camisole.
If you have trouble finding the right colour camisole to go with your blouse, just buy a white one and then dye it to the appropriate colour. You can usually find camisoles in most lingerie departments and if you really can’t well a fine white t shirt with tiny straps will almost do the same trick, and possibly be much cheaper. Apparently there are predictions being rumoured around that the fashion for 2010 is going to take on quite a dramatic change concentrating more on shapes and forms rather than adornments.
Up until now there have been various styles of clothes on offer consisting of items with frills, flowing and draping materials and lots of transparencies but it seems that all this will change next year. The designers have decided to concentrate all their efforts on the shapes of the clothes rather than their smaller details.
So hopefully they will be able to produce garments that actually help a woman’s figure rather than just disguising it, because if they are concentrating on the shapes and forms they will also be looking seriously at the way they cut the garments and a well cut garment can do a lot to straighten out hips that are bulging out a little too much or a bit of a podgy stomach.
Marks & Spencer have brought out recently their Magic Slimming Dress and this has been cut so well that it almost does a bit of liposuction all over your body without you even having to go into any operating theatre! All the reviews about the dress have been nothing but fantastic with claims that women can look one whole size slimmer just by putting on the dress. It is a very simple dress with short sleeves, a square Read the rest of this entry »
